China and Europe once considered Huawei to be the undisputed king and queen of the smartphone industry. Some people considered the company’s phones the pinnacle of Android’s possibilities.
In addition to excellent hardware, the company also offered good software. US sanctions prevented the company from operating. As the years passed, Along has had difficulty regaining its footing.
With the release of Harmony OS and a shift toward wearables, the responses the company received from Google after no longer being able to use its services. This is however now possible with Huawei’s P50 Pro.
In this review, we will see that the company seems to be finding its feet.
Huawei P50 Pro Overview
Huawei doesn’t need to continually prove that its smartphones can compete on equal terms with any other brand. Huawei’s Mate and P series of smartphones have consistently done it. These smartphones have been designed at the cutting edge. Mobile photography and features have advanced year after year. Huawei P50 Pro follows this tradition.
I have mentioned this before, but the challenge comes from the software side. Huawei has been prohibited from using Google services under United States law. It is developing its Android-based platform. Promote the use of its own App Gallery to encourage developers to publish their apps.
If you’re heavily reliant on Google services and can’t imagine relying on workarounds for getting your email regularly. Alternatively, if you’d prefer not to use Google’s services, you may use a smartphone without them.
With a little effort, you can still receive push notifications for emails and calendar events. It might be worth considering if the Huawei P50 Pro is on sale.
Huawei P50 Pro Features A Unique Camera Bump
A unique design distinguishes the Huawei P50 Pro from any other smartphone out there. A quad-camera array is enclosed by two enormous circles. If it takes some time to get used to, it’s not negative.
Cocoa gold is the color of the model that we received, though the color changes with different lighting. The color may appear gray at times. It may appear gold at other times, or it may appear brown at other times. Fingerprints stick to this surface. In terms of looks, it is one of my favorites right now, and I find it very appealing.
On the other hand, the display has a curved edge on both the left and right sides as well as a punch-hole camera at the front. It is a bit low on the display because of the in-display fingerprint sensor. The top and bottom bezels of the 6.6-inch display are nearly equal in size.
The bottom and the bottom of the chassis of the phone are fully flat. A microphone, an IR sensor, and a speaker are located at the top of the device.
A SIM tray is located at the bottom, as is another speaker, a USB-C port for 66W charging, and a USB-C connector.
Improved App Gallery Continues of Huawei P50 Pro
Unlike every other Huawei smartphone in recent memory, the Huawei P50 Pro faces a software issue. Users can access programs from AppGallery. This section lacks a substantial number of applications. Some of them require installation through third parties. If you do not use YouTube Vanced or MicroG. Other programs like Gmail will also not work.
As of the event, the Huawei P50 Pro is the first device that I have exclusively used for daily use. However, my dependence on Google services made this a challenge. Due to Gmail restrictions, I decided to use Nine as my email app. However, push notifications to come every fifteen minutes. A notification when an email arrives is far different from receiving a notification upon arrival.
Additionally, the apps on AppGallery are sometimes not accessible in Ireland. For example, Just Eat is an app that allows Irish food delivery, but it’s a regional app.
Ireland’s AppGallery officially publishes the United Kingdom app rather than the Irish app. The latter doesn’t work. I had to install the Irish app manually after sideloading the UK app.
Huawei P50 Pro Specifications And Performance
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor powers the Huawei P50 Pro, which lacks just one feature from last year’s flagship phones. There is only LTE/4G connectivity available.
As part of our review model, we have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A lot of people should be fine with this storage capacity. The device is also available in 128GB and 512GB capacities. The 512GB model gets 12GB of RAM as well.
Additionally, Huawei is getting very good at making its ecosystem of devices easy to connect. Therefore, if you own a Huawei laptop or tablet. Your Huawei phone can easily connect with these devices. They can exchange data easily.
The Huawei P50 Pro Camera
A pill-shaped camera bump is part of the Huawei P50 Pro’s impressive design. Leica’s AI-powered cameras are located on the phone. A 50MP wide camera is used as the primary camera on the phone. In addition, it is equipped with a periscope telephoto lens that offers 3.5x optical zoom. The camera features a 40MP monochrome sensor and an ultrawide lens.
Battery Life of P50 Pro Huawei Mobile
With an 8.5mm thickness, the P50 Pro has a relatively small 4,360mAh battery. 5G is not supported though. A full day of moderate use is possible with the battery capacity and endurance.
If you use the screen on your phone for 6-7 hours without charging it, this translates to 6-7 days. You need this if you use the GPS constantly, take pictures, and use the camera frequently. Recharge may be required before the day ends if screen-on time dips below six hours.

With the optional proprietary charger, the P50 Pro features 50W wireless charging as well. Your smartphone is usually placed on a wireless pad when you work. Wireless charging isn’t supported in reverse on the flagship. It is surprising due to previous Huawei models supporting reverse charging.
